My mother has a choice of North Shore Manhasset or Winthrop for a minor procedure. Are there ratings anywhere?

Re: How do you know how hospitals rate?
Mom and DH used to work in medical malpractice insurance (mom still deals with TP and hospitals and she was a nurse as well) hands down - North Shore Manhasset - NS Manhasset and LIJ are considered the two best hospitals on the island. Wintrop is a good hospital but NSM has the better rep.
Etd to add - if you want to look up the dr who is doing the procedure - check out this site:
I think it is a helpful site if you know what you are looking for - it doesn't help if you don't know though..lol

North Shore all the way! They are one of the top hospitals in the nation in every category. Everyone who works there is amazing, from the man that whells you to a room to the lady in the deli. I was just there and everything was great..except I was in a hall for 3 hours while they found me a room! My friend just spent a month in ICU and got great care. I have been to the ER 3 times since I have been with FI (he doesn't thoroughly cook meat, shhh) and North Shore was the best experience.
