When choosing your reception hall?? I heard that a lot of you ladies have felt a special tingle in your tummy with your dress . . . Was it the same for your decision about your RH or something else??

Re: How do you know if it's the one?
I knew it was the one beacuse I loved the decor, the rooms and it was in our budget...they are giving me everythign i want.
i loved places that weren't in my budget and they weren't giving me what i want. i had to make sacrifices somewhere...

I saw a lot of beautiful RH but it was about what is right for you. The most important things to us were BUDGET, how it looks, and the food. Once I found someplace that had all of our top three things that were in our price range we booked right away.

Re: How do you know if it's the one?
For us, I just did a ton of research and went to the first place I thought I would fall in love with... FH actually liked it right away... I think I as too shell shocked that this was all happening to want to make any quick decisions... I actually yelled at FH b/c our bargaining power went right out the window b/c he was telling our BM almost immediately, 'yeah, only place we looked at... we're not looking anywhere else'
So for me, I didnt get that sensation that it was the one right away... It took going back a 2nd time to be like wow... yup, this is it! Now, you get me in the place and I just cant leave hehe

Re: How do you know if it's the one?
We only went to see one place... I had done a bunch of online research and I was in love with the Bourne and Flowerfields... once we went to the Bourne I didn't need to look anywhere else. I even joked with my parents after we left the first time by pretending to pose outside by the fountain. I brought FH the next week when he was in town and we signed that day - and got engaged the day after... we did things a little backwards because he was waiting for my grandmother's stone to be reset.

Re: How do you know if it's the one?
We went to a wedding at the East Wind before we were engaged and my FH talked about how amazing everything was about the East Wind and that he will get married there. We have both gone to a bunch of weddings on LI and didn't get that feel anywhere else. We ended up checking out another place we hasn't gone but nothing compared. plus, we liked that people could stay at the inn and that everything you could ever want is right there at the EW.

We were torn between 2 places and went back and forth. Then when we decided we haggled and got the better price and deal!!!

unfortunately i already screwed myself with the hall... stupid me upgraded the menu without trying to bargain ... so im paying the highest price (which is still low in all honesty compared to many others, but saving $$ anywhere you can is always a good thing!)

Re: How do you know if it's the one?
it was (1) within our budget, (2) on the bay, (3) close to our ceremony location, and (4) modest w/o a trace of marble or crystal chandeliers in sight (those things just aren't us).
i did get a tingle when we drove through the front gate bc there's a long and winding driveway that leads up to the mansion, and from afar, you could see the sun sparkling on the bay behind wispy seagrass. that's really when i feel in

Re: How do you know if it's the one?
our RH was just the right setting, I wanted something on the water for the views, it was close to where I grew up, the price was right, the decor was right, and the treatment by the RH staff was amazing - i just knew

I didn't really have a say in it LOL FH really wanted to have the wedding there. I tght it was very pretty and the price was in our range and they accomodated our large guest list. To me I didn't get a feeling but since Chris did I was on board. I really wanted him to be involved andif it meant having him pick the hall so be it.
At the end of the day I am happy with it.

We went to my RH first and LOVED everything about it from the minute we walked in until we left but we still went to see about 12 more places. only one other place had me undecisive but in the end i went right back to my 1st choice after i was able to get the price lowered. u will just know its the one when u walk in and u can envision ur entire wedding lol

We loved everything about it - the people we talked to, the location, the grounds, the room - and most importantly the price.
We looked at 6 places in one weekend and it was definitely our favorite.

By the time I saw CB, I had seen 10 other places and by the time I left CB, I was excited for the first time. I could really invision my wedding there and was really excited to show it to my FH
