Oh I didn't realize you meant what reading to CHOOSE from... your priest should give you a book.

I might still have mine.

We were given a booklet during pre-cana called 'Together for Life'. It provides an outline of the ceremony and tells you exactly how many of each type of reading (Old Testament, New Testament, Gospel, etc) to choose and what part of the ceremony they are for. If you have trouble finding readings online, I'd suggest getting the booklet! They sell it at Barnes & Noble for $3.50.

Re: how do you pick readings for the ceremony??

we were given a package of how the ceremony goes and what readings are available it made it easy. What if you called the church and see if they have something for you. I know St Frances deChantal in Wantagh has this Try calling them

i think that a lot of churches require that the readings are from the bible. its usually one from the old testament and one from the new testament, from what i remember.

i have also seen people do a third reading if they wanted to incorporate something non-traditional.

but it all depends on your church -- there might be churches that are less strict about this.
