how do you plan on 'cutting back' for the wedding?
Similiar to eternitybride's post, only the other way around. In what areas do you want to save money?
For me, definatly the centerpieces. I never like the big extravagent ones (just my personal taste). I MIGHT try to make my own!! I also want simple invitations. And I'd like to spend less than $1000 on my dress. And also, I'm not really a big flower person (although i def. want flowers)

My goal is to do something similar, I don't plan to go too crazy with flowers, nothing over the top. I plan on getting pricing for centerpieces, but if it is too high i will make my own.

thinking of making my own centerpieces, I know places where 950 will get 1000 roses (lots and lots of roses everywhere wheeee)
Bought veil off of ebay and will enhance it with beading on my own
Making my own invites (already bought the stuff for pocketfolds lol) and will probably make my own STD cards (not sure on magnets yet)
not getting caught up on the things on LI weddings, so no slipper basket bathroom baskets cry packets probably no OOT bags (unless I have money by then)

we are trying not to go crazy. We are just going to get the minimum on things. We really cant afford a wedding but think we will regret it if we dont have one. So we will save and have what we have.

If you want to spend under 1k on dresses, I would Def check RK Bridal in the city, I know my friend got hers there, and even with adding on sleeves it was under 1k.
I bought mine in FL, so i cant help with NY salons =(

I'm ordering wholesale candelabras and having a florist make something small to fill them. Hopefully I'll save alot that way.

I am going to DIY everything I can! And I don't have to worry so much about flowers because I am allergic to them. But I will make my own centerpieces if the RH doesn't throw them in, DIY invitations and all stationary stuff, buy an inexpensive yet nice dress, and have essentially no BP, my siblings will apart of it though and last but not least I am having my ceremony and reception at the same venue so no limo. Plus all those extra stuff like cry packs, favors, OOT bags etc are not happening. Whew! I feel like that yellow happyface from Walmart, keep rollin rollin rollin

Sparklingbride and I had been joking about making silk centerpieces and passing them from bride to bride for 2010, find a common color, and we just add or subtract as we need lol
