I went to the bank last week and cashed in almost $100 worth!!

coupons while shopping!

Also, I cut back on alot of name brand clothes and I cut back on buying unnecessary stuff like designer bags & expensive shoes, although I am not a big shoe person anyway.

Lisa Rose I bring my change once a month to the bank & get about $200! I never use it in the stores, always pull out more bills

definatly rolling change. you would be surprised how much money can be in a jar of pennies.

I also use coupons and buy treat stuff that is on sale like ice cream and cookies. My supermarket doubles the price of coupons so that is really good as well

i dont buy designer clothes or bags.

we catch matinee movies, and sometimes just wait for a movie to come out on DVD and make our own movie night. Especially since we have a popcorn machine and ice cream machine (now if i had a cotton candy machine my candy madness would be complete)

i buy stuff that is on sale and i sit on LIW all day to prevent me from shopping on line

i have a very strict budget where i write down all of the money i spend on bills and take out only the money i absolutely need for the week at once - same amount every week...and never go back tot he ATM until the next week!
I went into pretty bed debt a while back (which is why i live at home right now ) and i don't want to make that mistake again. i am very strict with myself!

How funny you guys mention change counting. We just rolled our change last night to the tune of $256 and we've still got more to do.

As far as savings, I think the easiest way for me is to never have the money in the first place. I take my 401K deductions right out of my pay check. I take 15% out and have a very nice sum saved up in my 8 years of working.

I also have several stock investments which do rather well.

I am called Coupon Queen by my hubby, although I know that distinction on LIW goes to Anna and TammyJill, LOL!

I work in a career where I can dress casually (I do 1/2 office, 1/2 field work), so I don't tend to spend much on clothes or shoes. I don't buy anything unless I need it.

My biggest problem is having to buy name brand stuff - I must use Tide for the laundry and use Salon brand shampoos and conditioners. I only buy Advil or Excedrin. Tampax or Kotex. I guess I could save a little if I went generic in some places.

In addition, I pay all my bills online and save on postage. hey, every little bit helps!!

we definitely do the change thing...in december we rolled ours and it was $1300!!!

but I'm so not good at coupons...i buy things I don't really need when I clip coupons...

I only buy clothes now when I reach a weight loss goal...

we don't go to movies...we use on demand instead

what I think I really need to do is set a budget everyweek...

I jsut can't seem to stop spending!!!

i am actually saving all my change for my wedding dress, i started in january and so far i have $396.00
and i still have a little more then two years left.

my fh brown bags his lunch, we use coupons, i don't buy many clothes anymore and me and fh have cut down on ordering out all the time, now we only go about every other week instead of 3 or 4 days a week.

we bank my paycheck. direct deposit into separate checking account with the bank we have our mortgage with. mortgage comes out directly every month. we haven't been checking on it at all for a very long time.

read the last statement, we have 8 grand left over!! morgage is $1,000 less than my monthly salary so its been adding up! unfortunately, we have a ton of expenses with the wedding, honeymoon & house....

its hard for us to save weekly. we have too many expenses. the only other way we save is with big payments. wedding gifts (hopefully), TAX RETURNS (thats a big one since we own a house!), bonus from work.

i've also been trying to cut down on my food shopping bill every week.

Watch for sales, deals, etc.
Bring my lunch/breakfast to work
buy things if I need them.

I don't I am so bad, I keep spending and spending and my debt is crazy,
