with a scanner seems like the obvious answer. Each scanner works a little differently. If you don't have one, Kinkos might.

Check the software manual that came with your scanner. There should be a control panel for the software that will start the scan and bring the picture into your computer and then allow you to save the picture onto your hard drive.

It sounds easy but I could never scan good quality prints

I sat there last night for over 2 hours trying to scan photos and nothing happened. The instructions don't help at all.

Does the scanner work? The light should be on in the flatbed, does it power up? Are you in the program for the scanner and when you push scan nothing happens?

The scanner works. You can see the light and you can hear it but I don't know where its sending the picture. I can't figure out how to post pictures.

OK so when you scan the pic, it appears in the scanner program? You should be able to preview it here, change resolution. size, etc. Then once you do a final scan, it should open up in Photoshop or a similar image editing program. It doesn't do that?

It does. It gives me a choice as to where I want to scan it but I don't know what I'm doing. It asks me for a file name and I don't know what its talking about so I make up something like 'reception' and it says no file match.

OK so when you get to Photoshop, click SAVE AS and save it to a folder you know where to locate it later on and save the pics as ceremony.jpg. Click down Save as type and choose JPEGs.

I'll try again when I get home tonight. It keeps asking me which file to put it on and I don't know.

Definitely do a save as because if it is saying no match it may be trying to find the file you are naming, not saving it as that file. Let me know if you need any more help!

I think it was asking me where :ex desktop & other choices.

If it was asking you where, then save to your Desktop in a folder or just on your desktop (again using SAVE AS)...the name of your file, ceremony.jpg and that should do it!

An easy place to put it also is MY DOCUMENTS so you dont clog up your desktop, call me if you need help, I will FM you my cell #

OMG. You are so sweet. I am so bad when it comes to computers. I just need someone to show me so I know. I am not picking it up on my own. I think I might see my mom later. If she stops over, she will be able to walk me through it because she is really good with the computer. If there's still a problem, I'll come here and look for you. Thank you!!
