Re: how does???
Sounds like you are freaking out yet have it all under control! You are doing just fine. For me personally i just go with the flow. Read some magazines... there are also tons of books out there... and like a million check off lists. I know the knot has a list... but I never go on there. I have a book with just lists in it. there are lists in just about every single brida magazine you can find. Focus on major vendors first then start with all the little details. Also,.... you will find some great ideas and info from LIW... I know I have!

Re: how does???
I have a planner but if you want u can fm me ur email and I'll send you a checklist
Well, first thing you should do is breathe. There are many times that it seems over-whelming but it always fall into place. You already have the major people booked, and you still have plenty of time, so I think you're doing great.
Is there any reason you are waiting until April to order your dress? I waited until the very last minute to order, and I wish I didn't only so I have more time to try it on and make any adjustments to it. I would do that asap...
I would look into florist next, and there really isn't any rush to get limos, but you might want to get that done too. Then, all that you'll have left other then paying them all off is the details...
You'll be fine. Best of luck!

BTW.. I'm in the same boat at you as far as being the first to get married out of your friends and family. I am as well. FH isn't he is the youngest of 5 and all but 1 sibling is married... but his oldest sister is in my mothers generation (we think FH was a pleasant surprise, which by that I mean a nice way of saying a mistake or accident or surprise) so they all have a totally different outlook on everything. I'm kinda winging it all by myself and you can too! Well we won't be totally alone.... there's thousands of pple on her to help!

Re: how does???
You have a lot done already, so I wouldn't get too nervous!
I would def get started on your dress ASAP, because depending on the designer can take up to 10 months to come in. Then flowers, then limos, but you do have time still. Invites I would look into by spring. Really LIW is the best resource, I used the Knot list but that's really meant for middle America, NOT long island, and it really helps to know what the other girls are doing in terms of time frames to gauge yourself.

Re: how does???
there are alot of great lists among the web and espeically on this site. I try to write down the things i need to do each month (taking the ideas from these lists) and try to accomplish the things i need to get done. Unfortunatley for me i am the biggest procrastinator...and i still need to do alot ha ha ha

Re: how does???
I have a binder from Barnes and Nobles, but I don't really use it. You seem okay with all the venders. Honestly, I saw someone wrote that you are okay with dresses. I wouldn't wait until April though to go for the girls dress. I'm also getting married in September and I found a few BM dresses that I like. I plan to have them picked out and ordered by the end of Feb. I have been in several weddings, and we always order 8-9 months before. The dress has to come in then you need at least 2-3 months for alterations.
