How does it make you feel...nervous, excited, jealous?
Original post by nycchic_24
My mom asked me an awesome question the other night and so I figured I would post it here. I told her about the 'maybe mommies to be' here and those who have recently come out and told the good news. I was telling her how happy I was for all of you guys and she asked me..Does that make you nervous or does it make you jealous? And I had to think about it for a minute. Because in actuality it kind of makes me both. It makes me nervous when I look at girls who got married around the same time as me and think they are already up to this, what am i doing, why arent I here yet but it makes me jealous because at times I think I am just sooo ready and I feel I should be joining the group too.
So how does or did (for those who are pregnant now or have been) it make you feel when others announced their pregnancies..of course besides ecstatic for them..how did you feel?
I know one of my best friends is ttc, she is a little older and a little more settled so that said is a little more ready than us. It makes me so nervous to think that one of my closest friends is ready to start this new chapter of life but at the same time I want to go through it with her! I guess its just a roller coaster.

This is funny because 4 of our close friends just announced that they are pregnant in the last 2 weeks. Some of them were married a year or several years before us and some after us. But we are all in that same age group...I have to say I am so happy for them. I truly am happy for them. I am not jealous or thinking I should be doing it to. DH and I just know it is not the right time for us..we aren't years away but we just don't plan on making an announcement this year at all. I am sure come April when they are all giving birth, I may get a bing of jealousy - seeing the beautiful babies....but I know it is not the right time. I have a carrer and a new home to settle first.
At the same time, DH and I were just discussing how much our lives have changed and will be changing and that is kind of crazy to us. It is crazy enough that we all bought homes and moved in many different directions but now add kids to the mix....it is like a whole new life for us! Just kind of crazy....

Re: How does it make you feel...nervous, excited, jealous?
I was just thinking about this this morning went I logged on when I saw Heather's post (Congratulations!!).....
Like so many of us, there have been 4 new pregnancies within our family and friends. The first one hit me surprisingly hard. My SIL was pregnant with there 3rd, and it wasn't planned. My SIL was having a hard time getting used to the idea of having a 3rd baby, and all I could think of was that should've been us, and I was sad that it wasn't! Which caught me way off guard. I think it was then I realized that I was truly ready, and we've moved up TTC a few months. With the subsequent announcements I have been very happy all around. My MOH is currently TTC and they suspect that she will have a hard time conceiving. I already worry that I will be PG first. We were both wanting to get engaged and married at the same time and it happened a year earlier for me, and I felt bad for making it a little harder on her to wait. Keep your fingers crossed for her! I would love for her to go first on this

How does it make you feel...nervous, excited, jealous? Definately excited and I have to admit a tiny little bit jealous.

I was feelings of excitment for friends when they got married or had a baby but also a pang of 'when will it be my time' in my heart- not jealousy really-
Thats exactly how I feel, especially when my Brother told me that his wife was expecting again (they only wanted one child but oh well)

I was always happy when someone here posted their great news. What bothered me is when people we knew had an 'oops pregnancy.'

I do get a *twinge* of jealousy when I find out other people are TTC.. a lot of my really great friends are PG or TTC and it's sort of like- we're never going to be there.
But I just have to remind myself that we are doing what's best for us.
We wanted to enjoy ourselves as newlyweds first and tie up some loose financial ends, etc.
And we are doing that, and doing well... and hopefully this time next year I'll be TTC!
