It is probably from the mid to late 70's. They used to show it on channel 13 every Christmas Eve and again the following morning.

So he asks kermit for help and in one scene grover and kermit are interviewing kids and posing the question

and one of the kids answered that he came down with his reindeer and grover looks all confused and asks him if it was a party
