How does this hit you?

I will have about 10-12 tables at my reception. I wanted to name each table after a song. I am a huge Celine Dion fan and FH is a Sinatra guy (If it was up to me, the entire reception would only have Celine & Frank music, but I don't think that would go over big with our guests!) Anyway, with half of the tables named after a Celine song and half named after a Sinatra song, we would like to somehow have our guests interact with the playing of these songs (5 or 6 Celine songs at my wedding won't kill anyone, will it?) I will instruct the DJ to play these 12 songs randomly throughout the night, including the 2 that I'm using for spotlight dances, and somehow honor or dedicate the song to the guests at the so-named table. I know the plan needs a little refining, I guess I'm just thinking out loud but what does everyone think? Is it too stupid?

I think it's a great idea, but I think it might be overwhelming having 6 entire celine songs and 6 entire frank songs played. What if the DJ made a mix of all 6 celine songs and another mix of all 6 frank songs, so it's only portions of each song and not each entire song. Then each table could join as their song comes on. Just an idea

Just remember that all of this is going to suck a lot of time. If you have 12 songs, plus one first dance song, one song with dad, one song with mom, plus the dinner music, you definitely will have no other music played at the wedding!
