Well our reason is pretty good also...we would like to have it in Disney where we got engaged! We are planning to go there for Halloween and you cant book more than a year and a half in advance anyway.
Until then we are going to look around up here first to get an idea and compare
oh i saw the special on this on the food network...If you havent seen it you should...they say the price, what you can do with menu, decor and all that.

im not a disney fan and i actually thought they did a good job...plus for the menu you tell them to make whatever you want. Its not cheap either the weddings, the average was $100,000 and up

I booked my hall 2 years in advanced. It helps spread out your payments. I did a lot of shopping around for my photographer and DJ and I love them. That also helps with making payments. Pretty soon I will start looking at some florists but I won't make my final decisions until I have my dress. Take your time and do lots of research to get price ideas. It bothers me when they say Oh, you are planning so far in advanced! Yeah well my last name isn't trump!
I thought I did my research and thought October was an off month... it isn't. Nov.-March are generally off season. Except December because of holiday parties.

I'm planning my wedding for 8/22/09 and I already have the hall booked and the church. I would just come up with ideas for what kind of wedding you want to have, in what part of LI you want it to be in, how many people you may be expecting then research some halls and go see them! You can totally book the hall now too to lock in cheaper prices!

I haven't booked yet but I'm starting to look at RH halls tomorrow night. Since I might switch to 09 any price quotes I receive I'll be sure to add to the quotes thread. The quotes thread (along with the reviews) helped me to knock my list down from 32 halls to 15 to look at. FH was going to kill me if I dragged him to all of those. I worked out the compromise that I would only bring him to the ones I was thrilled with for final decision making. In the meantime MOH & I are hitting the RH viewing circuit.
