We have a couple (guy was a GM in our wedidng party) who registered spring of '06 for their spring '07 wedding.
Not a bad idea - people can always get you gifts for the holiday's that they see!

if you register early you won't end up with 50 of the same picture frame from engagement gifts. It may not be correct ettiquitte but I only had so much room on the mantel so go ahead and scan your heart out.

register now and just keep updating online! and if you already live together, tell everyone to get you stuff from your registry for the holidays...thats what we did

I registered at the beginning of last September for my 12/2/06 wedding so I say go for it!
It's nice to have at least a few things registered for so if people want to buy you a gift for your engagement!

no way, I got engaged in March and will register in a few weeks (for oct 07 wedding) and I wish I'd done it already.. just too busy! Just make sure nothing will 'discontinue'

I registered In August for my May wedding. Just try and keep it to big stuff, like china and pots. Bathroom and bedding stuff trends to be discontinued quickly.
