How early to start photo's?

Hello ladies!

I'm trying to work out some logistics with the hair/makeup and the photographer. My fiance and I are not looking for a lot of 'Getting ready' shots, but our photographer seems to be pushing it...which would mean that the girls would have to be at the salon by 8am for a 6:30 wedding. That seems a little much for me.

How early are you all starting your pictures? Is anyone doing a first look? (We are)

Re: How early to start photo's?

The photo/video people started within 15 minutes of arriving which was around 10-11am I think closer to 10. It really doesn't take long. But he may be pushing it because he's afraid of running late. Do you have a lot of girls getting ready?

How early to start photo's?

I have 7 bridesmaids, but we're getting ready at a salon- then going back to a family friends house to get dressed/finishing touches.

He was saying to get to the house 90 minutes before we leave for our First Look. Wedding starts at 6:30pm and we were going to leave 90 minutes for first look and bridal party shots, getting back to our venue by 6pm. So they'd have from 3pm - 5:45pm to get the first look shots and some bridal party pictures. That is reasonable, right?

How early to start photo's?

My photographer is starting at 1:30 (5:30pm ceremony start), with hair starting at like 9 or 10 am I believe. I have myself, 5 bridesmaids, and my mom getting our hair done (I have not booked makeup yet, but I think I'll be the only one getting my makeup done).

Photographer arrives at my house & FH house at 1:30pm, first look is at 3pm (so that leaves just over an hour for getting ready photos)and photos are ending around 5pm or whenever the first guest arrives. We are going to do extended family & additional bride/groom photos if needed after the ceremony for about 30-45 minutes (our cocktail hour is an hour and a half).

I think 3-545pm is definitely enough time for first look & bridal party photos.

How early to start photo's?

Our ceremony is at 3 at our church so the photographer said probably 1:30 start. He said by that time Everyone but me should be fully ready and dressed by then and I should be almost ready, just finishing up makeup. I haven't met with makeup artists or hair dressers yet but I'm assuming probably a 9 or 10am start to make sure everyone gets done (4 bridesmaids, MOB, and me)

How early to start photo's?

I agree with you I think 3pm is fine? I was planning the same exact thing with a reveal. That's 10 hours total if your reception ends at 12. Not sure if you have a specific number of hours in your package. Although I was recently in a wedding with a 6:30pm start and they didn't do a reveal but hair and makeup started early anyway- we all met at a hotel around 9am. The photographer arrived around 3 for that wedding also.
