How easy is it to make Sangria?

I'm thinking about having it out for our Christmas party this weekend. What exactly is in it? Is it always with alcohol?

Can someone share a good recipe?

Thanks

It is easy - I don't have a recipe with me either. Mostly wine, sugar and fruit! Yum!

Teri go to the FoodNetwork Website and look under Bobby Flay or Rachel Ray they both have Sangria recipes
Also on that site you can try the show Semi-Homemade

Very easy!!! I use white or red and add everything to taste. The best is to soak any fruit for an hour or 2 before your guests arrive so it sweetens everything up. Add sugar to taste and we added some sweet liquor that we bought (can't remember the name right now) and that tasted REALLY good!

I made this a lot over the summer. Hope this helps!

ETA: It was Chambourd. I have recipes at home if you want to follow something Teri, let me know and I will e-mail them to you!

Here's my recipe.

Ingredients:
One magnum of red wine (merlot, cabernet, etc)
2 tablespoons sugar
1/3 c orange juice
1/4 Grand Marnier (optional- but delish)
1 orange cut up into slices
1 apple cut into chunks
20 red or green grapes, halved
10 strawberries quartered
1 cup seltzer

directions:

combine wine & sugar and stir until sugar disolved. Add all ingredients except for strawberries & seltzer. Chill overnight.
Before serving add strawberries, seltzer & ice.

Re: How easy is it to make Sangria?

1 bottle Rioja or other red wine
shotglass of lime juice
2 shots Bacardi
Random fruit as desired

This is about as easy as it gets for Sangria. Customize it with things YOU like! Mix all ingredients together and chill in the fridge overnight. The next morning, toss in some ice cubes and serve!

Re: How easy is it to make Sangria?

There is a White Wine version that is made with Peach Schnapps as well- and strawberries & peaches.. but it is NEVER as popular as the red- the longer you let it 'stew' in the fridge, the BETTER...

By the way- the recipe I use is from Williams Sonoma
