How far along is everyone? Come light a fire under my bum :) (kinda long)

So, just how far along is everyone in their planning? I'm just about at the year mark, and the plans have come to a complete halt. Eeek! I have lost my motivation. I haven't lost the desire to get married at all, I'm just so sick of calling and visiting vendors! Am I reeeaaally far behind? So far I have
The church
the hall
photo/video

What else is there? I feel like most of the major things are done, but then I read everything that everyone here is doing, and I feel lost.
Is it too soon to pick out BM dresses? Should I wait till I pick my dress to pick theirs? I don't want to order my dress for another few months. Also, would a florist think I was crazy making an appointment a year in advance?
When should I consider invitations and favors seriously? I mean, I have an idea of what I want, but I should wait a few months, right?
Another thing, has anyone found a DJ that they love who is reasonable? Sorry for all of the questions, I just feel like I'm missing a lot of stuff, and I really need to get moving.

I would say you are right on target. I think the next thing you would have to do is your dress cuz it takes longer to get in. Supposedly eight months. I have the same as you, just looking at florists now. We haven't really done any more than that. FH got the GM's gifts and I got some of the BM's. We are looking at Rehearsal dinner sites and limo's later in the year. BTW, we have 190 days left as of today.

you can certainly look at florists now - and although you don't have to order your dress yet - you can always go try them on and see what styles you like. you can look at invitations and tuff and get lots of ideas. It's great to have so much time to plan because then you can gather up all sorts of neat ideas and when it come time to choose - you already have the homework done!
I just realized how much of a teacher I sounded like just there.
I'm super organized though and I did a lot of stuff way in advance. I ordered my dress at about the 1-year mark and although i'm not getting married until April - I already have my invitations in my possession. I was just worried that I wouldn't do stuff. Organization is KEY!!!
But having fun with it is the most important part!!

I recently got engaged(May 2nd) I have my church, hall, dress, and an appointment with photographer on Monday! and after that I will look into a D.J.

Ummm I have:

Ceremony/Reception Place

I sort of have centerpieces down, throw away bouquet, bridal set (unity candle, etc.), that kind of stuff. I have people giving it to me so I have to just figure it out.

But next weekend I'm going to try on my makeup and meet with the florist and finalize hotels for the out of town guests. And next weekend I'm going to also pick a rehershal dinner place.

That's about it for me. But I'm out of town so I do a lot of stuff in chunks.

at your reception hall.. if your party is the only one using the bathrooms some brides make a bathroom basket... one for ladies room one for mens,
can include hairspray, spray deodorant, bandaids, pantyhose... you can do a search to see lists of what some girls include

We just ordered the invites, gm gifts, and my veil. I have to get undergarmets- **** it in undies, and I know they are planning the shower! I also have to make the do not play list, get addresses, which I am working on now, and the photo list for the photographer, hair and makeup trial. I guess I am ahead of schedule.
