To get to your OB/GYN. I have one who I really like, but she is at least 30 minutes from where I live. I am not quite TTC yet, but just thinking ahead....... would it be a problem having my doctor that far from me when the time does come? I wanted to find out from you ladies who have gone through it.... I'm not thrilled with the idea of switching to a new doctor, since I'm comfortable with mine. Any thoughts from you experienced ladies?

One of my best friends lives in Hampton Bays and goes to the same gyn I go to in Port jeff which is like a good 1/2 hr ride. She will also be delivering at St.Charles Hospitla near there but she really likes this doctor so I guess it's worth it.

I don't like to be too far away, from either the dr's office of their affiliated hospital.
My dr is about 5 mins from work, 20 from home, and the hospital is about 15 from home, 35 mins from work

My Dr. is about 30 min from work and about 10 minutes from home (with no traffic). Sometimes with traffic coming from home it takes us 30 minutes! But I love my Dr. and wouldnt switch. You have to be comfortable with who you use. Thats very important. If you are going to switch to someone closer I would do it soon so you know if you like them. Once you become pregnant you will be seeing a lot of them!!!

My OB and hospital were a half hour away. I didn't mind the drive to the appointments but the night I went into labor it was the LONGEST and BUMPIEST ride of my life!

My Dr. is about a 45 minute drive from my house. I just kept moving further east...and I don't want to switch. The hospital is right by his office and I have to have a baby there- my Mom is an RN in the nursery!

Im in Riverhead and my OBGYN is in Southampton and Riverhead. FH works in SOuthampton or east 80% of the time so I go to Southampton which is 30 mins away.

I don't think 30 minutes is that bad... With traffic on LI most things are thirty minutes
