How far do you go with the 'groom can't see you' thing?

How far do you go with the 'groom can't see you' thing?

My mom thinks I'm being silly.

I don't want FH to see me before the wedding, which means we're going to have to find a ceremony location other than at the catering hall (or there won't be any time for pictures)...

But, beyond that, I don't want him to see *anything* before the wedding-- not my shoes, not my tiara, not my veil, my garter, etc. He did see my makeup trial (and wasn't thrilled with it because he likes me au naturel), but I don't think I want him to see my hair trial. So I'm hiding everything in boxes.

How far do you go with stuff like that?

We are going to the same extremes on the day of the Wedding. I don't want to see her til the ceremony. I hadn't thought about what you wrote about. But I know this... I don't want to see those articles of clothing for the Wedding til the Wedding. She'll hide them.

I know another couple who got married this August and he saw the Wedding dress every night because it was hanging right out in the open. I would't have wanted that.

Hope this helps.

We live together so hiding..shoes, veils, tiaras is going to be hard. If he sees
it indiviudally i don't care..BUT he won't see the whole package till we are
at the alter!

If he sees the BM dresses ...i don't care, i ask his advise

I dont want him to see anything till I am at the alter.

My mom has a picture of me in my gown by the computer and whenever we go to my parents I run to their computer room and hide the picture.

I dont want him to know a thing about me and the gown till the wedding day

He saw my make up trial (he came with me) so that was no biggie.

But as far as anything related to the gown (the gown, the accessories, hair, veil, etc...) that is a big NO WAY

i also lived with my dh so hiding things was impossible but at as long as he didnt see them on me it was fine. i actually picked up my dress 2 days before the wedding and he was barred from the living room lol i even locked the door it was funny

We live together and I hide EVERYTHING. I don't think it is weird at all. I am even moving back out for a mnth prior to the wedding. I have let him see my shoes but that is about it. I will let him see my makeup trial but not the hair. I think you are very normal

We live together and nothing but my dress is in hiding. We will be getting ready together in our home & taking pictures before the ceremony.

Same here.
He's seen the veils, tiaras, jewelry, hair and makeup. He's never seen the dress. All he knows is that it's off the shoulders.

My FH isnt seeing anything that I am wearing. When I get my hair and makeup trials done, i am not planning to let him see.

We live together also, he's not allowed to see anything until the wedding day. He did see my make-up trial, which he also did not like. But thats it. He can't see anything until the whole package is completed on the wedding day!!!

I don't think it's silly. I live with FH too, and I don't want him to see anything of mine before the big day, so I've taken over a spare bedroom and it's full of wedding stuff. We will be seeing each other before the ceremony for photos, but I still want to make a grand entrance for him when everything's all pulled together. We're also going to take some time to be alone before taking pictures. I think it will really ease my nerves to have some alone time with him before seeing him in front of 200 people.

Well, then, I'm the odd man out - my FI DREW the designs for the embrodery on my dress - he had to have a pic to work from. But he won't see the dress until it's on me on the wedding day. (my mom's making my dress) Everything I've shown him as soon as I got it! Shoes, jewelry, makeup - I don't know, it didn't even occur to me to hide anything.

It's not the bridal thing until it's all on you anyway.

He'll see my shoes, and my makeup trial thats it. And from the nite of the rehearsal dinner till the wedding he;'s living with the best man!

The only thing he can't see is the dress!

I don't want him to see anything at all, not the hair or makeup trial or anything, I want to him to be surprised :)

He wont be seeing anything until I come walking down the aisle.. I actually ask him if he wanted to see anything... I am bad at keeping surprises, but he said he doesn't want to know anything about it, but wants to be surprised and take everything in as I walk down the aisle...how cute!

same here .. though he probably won't see the tiara or veil, either.

its really hard when you live together to hide EVERYTHING (esp. in an apartment as small as ours!)

Yep, we live together, too. We have designated a formerly empty entertainment center as our 'wedding cabinet,' and as I buy things, I stick them in there. I don't think he'll peek-- he told me he doesn't want to see anything before the wedding, either.

Glad to see I'm not alone in this.
