do I need to order a dress? I have about 13 months to go, do I need to order soon, or do I have some time?
I've heard from some of the ladies on here that their gowns take over a year. It depends on the designer but I think for the most part, it shouldn't take more than 6 months. I just ordered mine 1 and 1/2 weeks ago and my wedding is in November.
I'm going to start looking, my wedding is in one year. I want to at least get an idea of what looks good and what doesn't, and then I'm having my dress made.
I ordered mine 11 months in advance.
I ordered mine the first week of March for my late September wedding. The dress is due to come in late June/early July.

It depends on the dress. Maybe you could start shopping now to see what designers you like and find out how long it takes to get them. My dress is taking 10 months to come in!
Mine was a Casablanca - I ordered it in late March (I think) and it came in late August.
I ordered mine 13 months before. The dress took 8 months to come in. If I were you I would start looking.
i will order around the 1 year mark or maybe a month or so before. i think you could order closer, but i wouldn't want to chance it!
You have time, but I would start looking in case 'the one' happens to be one of the ones that do take a year to come in.
I ordered mine in August of '04 & it is scheduled to come in this August but I think that the place i ordered it from waited until jan to order it--or my dress designer just put it on the back burner b/c they have more pressing orders.
i bought mine this weekend although my wedding is next July. i found my first choice dress at too big of a deal to pass up. i think most ladies start looking about a year ahead and plan to buy around several months before.
I started looking back is May of '04. The salon where I wound up ordering it from in July of '04 told me it could take up to 8 months. Can't hurt to start looking so you can get an idea of what you like.
