How far in advance do you begin sending out invitations? wedding is May 5th we were thinking of sending them out in the 1st or 2nd week of january then make rsvp for march 1st or april 5 which do you think is an ample amount of time. keeping in mind that i still have to figure out the seating chart

Re: How far in advance....
IMO, that's pretty early to send out invitations... usually they are send out about 2 months before with an RSVP of 4-6 weeks before.... however, if it's a popular weekend or you have not already sent out save the dates, you could probably send them out early. however, sendign them out that early, i would be afraid that people would misplace them or forget to send back the reply card.

Re: How far in advance....
Send them 8-10 weeks in advance and give 4-5 weeks to reply. Especially if you sent out or are sending save the dates.
I am getting married 4/14. I put the RSVP date of March 10th. That gives me 4 weeks to make a seating plan, placecards, menues, and whatever else I need. I plan on sending them out around Feb 1st.

End of Feb, earliest. People WILL lose them! I sent mine out a tad bit earlier because of the holidays, but I think you will be fine if you send them out at the end of Feb, beginning of March.
