Re: how far in advance...

If you know who's doing the readings and all the info....I'd say do it asap...

I usually don't wait...if I have everything...I do it and get it down so im not rushing around or thinking of it that last month!!!

Re: how far in advance...

I had the layout of mine finished 1 month before but I waited to print and assemble until about a week and a half before. I had my final count and the readings/order of ceremony finalized by them. It took me about 2 days to assemble because I took a break. Hth.

Re: how far in advance...

I typed in all the info I already know into MS Word docs, and was playing with layout and fonts last night. But nothing is set in stone b/c we still have to talk w/ the Rabbi about our ceremony, and choose some music (I have a few picked out, haven't settled on all yet).

If you have the names of officiant, bridal party, parents, readers, etc, then you can type that in and get an idea of what type of layout you're looking for.

If you're including any particular poems or quotes, find them now so you'll have them ready.

If there are specific customs or rituals you'll be using and you're definite on this, type it up now and edit your wording so you'll be ready to go.

We're having a Jewish ceremony and modifying some things, so I'm using some text from my sister's program since the traditions are exactly the same. I'm just pasting in our names, editing info specific to us, such as the significance of our ketubah.

You can also make a mock-up without text so you'll know what paper, cardstock, ribbon, etc looks nice and matches your scheme.

Re: how far in advance...

we atrted ours in february and forgot about them until june....crunch time, but we got it done....the format and what we kinda wanted to have on them was the biggest part, the printing and fine tuning were less intricate

we are just about done with them took about a day to set up. FH just has to print them and I have to add the ribbon and we are good to go!

I agree. I did them 4 months ahead of time. One less thing I had to stress about

I haven't started mine yet, but my friend is supposed to send me a template this weekend. I still don't know how the ceremony is going to go so i guess I need to make an appt with the Rabbi and then I can do it!
