I think Min. 8 months though I know a lot of people who got it in 4! I am waiting till 9 months before to look and then order. Want to be nice and trim when i try them on!

Re: how far in advance
I plan to order my the latest by April this year- since I have a very large chest and I will need a lot of alternations.
I am size 8 on my waist and a size 16 on my chest (maybe more)

I really think it depends on where you go. If you order from a smaller boutique I think they will tell you they need more time. My FSIL got her dress from Davids Bridal and they told her 6 weeks and it was there in 2.
I was told 8 months from Lillettes. So I think it all depends. THey are going to tell you longer then it really is so you don't freak out.

so i think I need to start looking ASAP even though I wanted to get a bit more in shape before I ordered.

I think if you order by August you will be fine. That gives you 5 months to become a buff bride.

Re: how far in advance
mine wont be in for 8-9 months...so id say anywhere from a year down to 9 months before..unless you buy off the rack which is a different story !

Re: how far in advance
I'd say 8 mos. is as far as I'd push it. I ordered mine 10 mos. out and they told me it would take 9 mos. to come in. It took 2!

Re: how far in advance
I agree with the other girls. 8 months minimum, but I would prefer 10-12 to be on the safe side. I ordered my dress about 17 months before.
