I got my placecard holders/and cd cases..still need to get CDs and labels
i am working on that stuff now! I have what I need mostly for the cd favors and i just have to look into the donation we want to make. i am also working on placecards currently-I have the actual ivory cards from Micheal's I just need to get the Fall leaves I want to put on them! (thanks to TERI!!) i am trying to dot he same exact thing--do EVERYTHING you can possibly do now so you can budget properly and not have to buy everything @ once! i also bought our tipping cards-to put the vendor's tips in and gift bags for those participating in the wedding (got catalogs in the mail last week) and i ordered our cake knife/server set! never too early IMO! just as long as you don't change your mind a year from now!
I am doing it now too, just not the placecandles... I'm afraid the wax will go all funky
I bought my place cards in January and my favors in May....I wanted to do the same thing- little things along the way, so that it doesn't seem we are spending that much money at the end. I also did it because I am terrible under pressure, and wanted to get stuff done early!
I started buying stuff before we even were engaged. lol.
I say the earlier the better - why put it off if you have the time now. That way you can actually enjoy it because there's little pressure. That's the way i see it anyway!
I was planning on saving some of those things until next year...but FI and I were out this weekend and stumbled upon the perfect favors so we bought them (and still over a year to go until we hand them out!) I say if you see things you like, buy them..one less thing to worry about!
