I'm just wondering because I really want to get married by May 2010 and I haven't even looked at places yet. I'll probably have a smallish wedding (around 100 or so). The only good thing I keep telling myself is that the bigger halls/rooms seem to book faster.
Does anyone think that shooting for April 2010 is a little too ambitious? I was even thinking of asking the RH's that we visit if there are any slots available for November 2009 (especially b/c I heard that they get cheaper within 6 months). But then there is so much I gotta cram in that time (dress, vendors, and not to mention booking the honeymoon and plannning that all out).
So I guess I'm just trying to get a rough idea of how far in advance everyone booked the RH. Thanks!
I guess I should add that we decided not to do a bridal party. I think that saves me lots of time and stress.

I am having a small wedding and I booked in January 08 for April 09. I would have loved to have had the wedding earlier but I really needed the time to save $ so we waited over a year.
I think April '10 is enough time. But if you want to kick it up into high gear Nov '09 is also doable.

I booked my first RH 2 yrs prior to my wedding date. I then cancelled it because of financial reasons.
The SECOND place I only booked last summer.

we booked in June or July of 08 for our May 09 wedding
if you are concidering doing nov it is def doable search out vendors and see realisically if there are vendors still available then base your decision upon that also do yo have the $$ saved for deposits and paying off a wedding in 6 months? if you do then I say g for it you will spend alot less for your wedding!!!!! ?Good Luck keep us posted

I booked my reception hall 16 months in advance and the date we wanted was already booked. We ended up picking a date from the dates they had open.

As soon as we had a date, we booked our RH. I believe it was 1yr and 5 months before.

I booked my RH 4 months before my June 12, 2009 wedding. Yes I am one the crazy one's
While I don't suggest this is the way to go I was able to find a decent looking place and have found that I am getting amazing deals along the way because people just want to book.
However keep in mind every single place I wanted was already booked so I couldn't be picky. It also helps if your'e doing your reception on a Friday or Sunday they get booked last.

We booked in Nov 07 for May 09. Also, our wedding date fall on a prime date (Memorial weekend ). We knew that we wanted this date. So if you are trying to book for May 10, start looking now. A lot of RH are booking up fast !
RHs probably charge the saturday rate for that day right?

What many places do is take the average of the cost for a Sat. night and a Sunday night and that is the price they charge for the Sunday of a three day weekend.
From my experience the Suday's of three day weekends book VERY quickly...we originally wanted the Sunday of Labor day weekend and it was booked for '09 and 10.

I booked it 11 months before.. I was only engaged a month before that we decided not to have a long engagement since we had waited 5 years before getting engaged... My cousin also booked Westbury Manor for june 11 months before don't think you are shut out bc people book early theres still plenty left considering the economy!

We booked mid-August 08 for December 2009, so a year and a little under 4 months.
