How far in advance did you book your RH?

I'm just wondering because I really want to get married by May 2010 and I haven't even looked at places yet. I'll probably have a smallish wedding (around 100 or so). The only good thing I keep telling myself is that the bigger halls/rooms seem to book faster.

Does anyone think that shooting for April 2010 is a little too ambitious? I was even thinking of asking the RH's that we visit if there are any slots available for November 2009 (especially b/c I heard that they get cheaper within 6 months). But then there is so much I gotta cram in that time (dress, vendors, and not to mention booking the honeymoon and plannning that all out).

So I guess I'm just trying to get a rough idea of how far in advance everyone booked the RH. Thanks!

we got married January 2009 and booked our hall is August of 2009

i think b/c it is not the high season that is why it was not a problem

we went 12 month in advance and they were booked... had to pick a later date

i booked exactly a year....my friend got engaged in november and she booked for april 2010

We actually booked 9 months before the day....

It worked out good!! Now is crunch time with saving... !! We are pinching every penny!!

We booked March 2008 for July 2009. All the places that I saw had like 3 or 4 dates for the following summer. I don't think it would be too early to start looking.

Originally I booked with 9 months. However, my mil got cancer and my dad had a major surgery so we pushed it back a year. I had all of our vendors picked 6 months prior to our original date.
