How far in advance did you order your invitations??

How far in advance did you order your invitations??

Basically, I found which invitation I would like to use but my wedding is not until September.

I have been told it takes 10 days to order..

What to do??!?!

My wedding is also in Sept. The weekend after yours... I am going to get my invites sometime in March or April and send them out in July. However, if you want, you could order them now and hold off on sending them till next year.

I would definitely wait. We picked out our invites months ago, but I'm so glad that I didn't order them yet. We wound up buying a condo even though that wasn't part of the plan. If I had ordered the invites back then I would have put the wrong address on them.

My wedding is 6/23/07 and I received my invites this week. I found them, Loved them, ordered them and am soooo happy I have them.

Our wedding is in May and we ordered our invites this past October. We got them in less than 10 days and now they're sitting in a huge box under our dining room table.
I would start looking for ideas that you like. There are tons of books to go through.

dont wait just 10 days to order. it sounds impossible, but it depends on ur invite!

my wedding was july and we picked them out sometime in jan/febuary, and we had them by april and we sent out the first week of april. . .

dont forget they also have to do the caligraphy on the invites. and me snd my mom decided to stuff the envelopes ourselves for the fun of it, and it was so time consuming, but fun!

I do plan on doing it rather early because I will not be leaving my parents house until really close to the wedding anyway.

So for my March 2008 wedding i am doing the order or having the invites I design printed by May.

Only reason I am doing this is because I work for a print shop get everything at cost and if I leave my job when I graduate next semester I will lose out on that savings.

If at all possible though save room to get proofs done because many brides have ordered invites and realized they spelled something wrong, they hated the font they thought it was cute, or the font size was way off. Proofs do cost you typically $10-$20 extra but i think its well worth it. So factor in a few weeks for that too because its a back and forth thing.
