ok let me get my notes lol I went to a seminar and this is what they said- invites- 5 to 6 months prior and mail 10 weeks prior to date and make a & b lists 4 weeks prior tuxes- 4 to 5 months prior slip and corset not sure i would think asap and shoes too they didnt give a time frame just said to do asap. hope this helps and as I write this boy I have done 0 except for my dress!!!! sh*t!!!!! i better move it!!!!!

Why do you need to get your slips and shoes ASAP?? I don't want them just sitting in my room reminding me that I WANT MY DRESS ALREADY!!!!

I know I thought it was early too but they didnt say why , I didnt get mine yet I think Im gonna wait till my dress comes in in Dec and I do my first fitting I think that would be ok? I hope lol

Get your corset and shoes before your first fitting. There is no reason to get them earlier than that unless you want to!

i'm bad with timelines,,, but my reasoning with anything in the wedding planning process is to get everything done as early as possible. There are going to be a million things that come up along the way, and it will be less stressful in the long run. its understandable that it gets annoying having things laying around your house, but its less that you have to worry about going out to get later on

Get my invitations ---So that they are ready at least 12 weeks before wedding (in case there are any printing errors that need fixing) Have FH get Tuxes --Around 3 months prior to wedding; close enough so they are same size -- this can be changed, far enough out so not another thing for you to worry about. Get Slip and Corset and shoes --Before fitting, not sooner in case of weight fluctuations.

I have to suggest that you get your shoes soon. I had what I thought were going to be my shoes.. then I did the test run..
Needles to say 4!!!! blisters later, I am back on the shoe hunt!
THe ones I had were that plastice look with spakels on the... I love the way they look, but OUCH!

I would just start looking for the shoes, etc when you're out. You'll need them 2 mos before your wedding but if you start browsing now, you won't feel pressured to just pick at that point.
The tuxes can wait until 6 weeks to 2 months before the wedding. Basically, when you're going for your first fitting, the groom should be getting his tux.

My wife signed us up at www.theknot.com almost immediately after we were engaged and used it the entire year to stay organized about the wedding and keep track of guests. It gives you tip on when stuff needs to be done, and reminds you if necessary.
