How far in advance do you mail out your invitations?

Hi, My wedding is Aug 25,2001. My MOH suggests I mail out the invitations today, since I have alot of out of town guests, and I also have a B list to send out when I get the response cards back from the A list. I want to wait until June 25 which is the two month mark. I don't want anyone to forget the date. What are you all doing?

8 weeks is the norm, but I did 10 weeks since my response date was 5 weeks before the wedding instead of the typical 4. We would not have gotten to invite a B list since most of the nos are coming back at the end. Our response date was Friday and I thought we were going to have too many yeses until Saturday when some surprise nos came in.

I did 12weeks for a holiday weekend *NM*

Normally I would do it 8 weeks before but since we have an a and b list also, we are doing it 11 weeks before. I want to have some back in enough time to send out the b list so it doesnt look like they were a b list person. If you do it 8 weeks before, when are you planning on doing the b list? You might not get any no's back on the a list for 3 weeks, are you willing to send the b list invites out only 5 weeks before? I would wonder if I got an invite that close. No one will forget your day, dont worry about that. Hope this helps!

Leyann, You raised a good point. I never thought about the responses coming in as late as three weeks later. I guess I am doing the right thing, because it is now 11 weeks till the wedding. Thanks Diva

I never did either until we talked about it! Hopefully you will get a few no's back sooner (not that we dont want people to come but...)than 3 weeks but you never know!! Good luck! Let me know what happens! Ours go out next month!!

I am sending out the out of towners their invites 2 months before the invites are due back and everyone else 1 months before. We don't have an A or B list we kind of just put everyone together are praying that we get a lot of no's.

We are set to mail ours out on Sept. 1st for our November 3rd wedding date. The hotels will only keep the rooms blocked until October 3rd. Since we are getting married on the North Fork, hotels are essential! We may even mail them out earlier if the calligraphy is finished by then. What the hell?? You can never be too careful.
