How far in advance for Tuxedos?

How far in advance did you choose tuxedos and get all the arrangements set?

We did it in early September for a late October wedding. That was ample time (our BM was in California so it was enough time for him to get his measurements and send them to NY).

We went a few weeks ago to MensWearhouse to look at colors for the vests for both the groom's and groomsmen's tuxes.

They had the swatches for all colors and patterns. The only downfall was that they did not have the actual tuxes or samples of the tuxes there.

We were told that they can take measurements later this month for our October 21st wedding and that would still be more than enough time.

We picked out our tuxedos this past weekend..I have 2 brothers who go away to college so I wanted them to get measured before they went back to school...We also have 2 groomsmen who are out of town so it gives everyone a chance to go and get measured at their own convenience.
