how hard was it to decide on your final wedding dress?

i'm hearing a lot of two dress brides and people changing their minds about their dress after ordering them. i guess the question would be, how hard was it to decide on the wedding dress you'll be happy with? short of custom making your dress, what did you girls do to convince yourself this was the one?

At first I had a couple of dresses that I kept going back and forth on. I kept on looking at dresses and I knew the moment I put it on that it was the one!!! If you don't know if its the right one than it probably isn't I started picturing myself walking down the aisle and I knew it was the one.

thanks for the advice ladies. i'm just unsure because i love some of the dresses i've tried on but they're not at all what i imagined my dream dress to be. i'm also kinda rushed to get this decision done and over with because i want to move on with the planning. there is way too much to do and i really don't want to linger on anything for too long. but i will definitely keep everyone's advice in mind.

Don't rush! You have over a year. Keep looking until you find the one or you will be a two dress bride! You can do two things at once - you can look at other vendors without having a dress! You have plenty of time - don't worry about everything getting done - it will!

It was not hard to decide at all for me. As soon as I saw it in a magazine I ordered it. I did not even see it in person or try it on and I wanted it. It was the only dress that made me cry.

i went to David's with my mom and sister .. tried on about 10 dresses and chose the 1st one i tried on ... it is a ball gown and totally cinderella-ish .. i am only gonna be a princess once .. i wish i could post the dress but FH signs on here and lurks so i don't want him seeing ... but it only took me one store and about 10 dresses to find the one .. i go May 3 for my first fitting ..

Well I didnt get the dress I wanted most, I got the one i liked 2nd most. I absolutele fell in love with a st. pucci dress (Style 9266) then I found out it costs almost as much as my car

And what i loved about it was the super low back and cross cross straps.... so I continues my hunt... I went to 3 or 4 dress shops until i got too fustraited. soI went to a small local dress shop that does custom work to find out if they could remake it... price was much better, but still out of my range....but they happen to have a dress with those features on it and some pretty beadwork on the front (The original has loads of swarovski crystals on it... maybe a bit too many) So I went with the closest thing I could find...

I dont have a pic yet of my actual dress, It should be arriving with a week or two but the one posted was the 1st choice
