Carol Moseley Braun is running for the democratic nomination...she is way behind in the polls...but doesn't have to be.
I respect those of you who do not agree with her stand on certain issues, but what a statement the women of the US make by standing together and voting for her!!!
edited to say...vote extremely even if you aren't republican...just wanted to express the strong feeling

Re: How important is it to have a woman President?
I will vote for a woman if I feel she is the best candidate. I don''t believe in just voting the party line or voting for a woman simply because of her gender.
Erica I do believe that we need to break through the glass ceiling, but I cannot help to do that by voting for a woman whose views I do not agree with. There are many women who run for public office but they do not win for any number of reasons. Two of the biggest reasons in my opinion are the lack of women who vote and those who simply vote along party lines. There seems to be a general apathy among women as a group with regard to politics. Imagine if every women voted???? We might actually get decent representation!!!
For those who commented negatively on Hillary Clinton, I would like to say just one thing... If she was a man her behavior would be not only tolerated, but expected! There is an incredible double standard in criticizing her for aggressively going after what she wants! Men do it all the time and they are considered go-getters!!!!
