How important is the bridal shower and E party

Wouldn't mind having either one, but all of my people are out of town. Not sure how it would end up working out...Opinions please!! TIA!

i think its more a matter of whether its important to you not so much other people

I agree! I just wonder if I'll pass over something and later wish I had done it...probably not though, considering my personality.

I agree.

I also think though it's more common for people to skip the e party than the shower.

If you're deciding between the 2- I'd def do the shower.

Most people don't even have an e party.

I agree as well. some people don't even have an e-party (that was said already)
It's really about what matters to you!

We had an e-party; we weren't planning on it; but so many people showed up and were really happy to share that day with us. I think we could have gone without it; but it was a nice way to get both families together and really celebrate with all of them.

I'm looking forward to my shower; maybe b/c i've been to SO many now it's finaly my turn?? LOL! But i guess it's the time for just the girls to get together; eat; drink; laugh. It's just somehting nice-i'm sure my sister & BM will plan it. But i'm not expecting a ton of gifts.

Not a fan of e-parties... I personally didnt want people to feel like it was another occassion to ask for gifts

A shower is more of a must imo if you dont have all the home goods already...

im going to say a bridal shower is more important than and e party but its all up to you

you could always have a small on and whoever shows up shows up

i am not a fan of e-parties. i just feel its another way for people to try to get money out of me.

i believe a shower is so much more important. its relatively cheaper then an e-party & the items you receive will help you start your new life together.

You only get this time in your life once, so you should do what works best for you. I didn't have an e-pary but I know that I'd want a bridal shower. So you should have whatever is important for you & FH.

I agree. Our 'e-party' was more along the lines of our friends getting together at a bar and getting drunk in celebration of our engagement (it was actually a surprise e-party for us / birthday party for me). We had a balst and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

YUP that was our e-party-we didn't to a registry or anything; just a big BBQ in future inlaws house over the summer sent info out via evite so it was in no way a party to get gifts; though some people did bring gifts and it was much appreciated.

If i had to choose between the two-i'd much rather the Bridal shower.

We didn't have an e-party because we wanted our parents to save money and just contribute it to wedding instead.

I think a bridal shower is a bit more important and people might be more willing to travel for them (I've traveled different places on east coast for bridal showers and expect my friends will probably do the same for mine)

We aren't having an e-party. We are only going to be engaged for 8 months, and we got engaged around the holidays so we got to see a lot of people at holiday parties and celebrate.

My mom and sister will throw me a shower. Honestly, we don't really need it since we live together and have almost everything. But new stuff wont hurt! :)

I didn't have a formal e-party, but I wanted to have a shower. My momma is throwing it for me, but it'll be a surprise!

Not important at all. I was thrown an e-party. Def. was not planning on one and I'm most likely not having a shower though I considered it.
