FH and I went to all the vendor appts. together...he is a better negotiator than I am. He even went to pick out invites with me. I have done all the little stuff (DIY projects) and showed him....I even made 2 menus to get his opinion about which one he liked best. However, I just show him all the DIY projects - in all honesty he could care less if we had programs, menus, OOT boxes, etc. The vendors were important to him though. HTH

my DH was involved in everything. He took over the music, that was his obsession! He had say and input in everything.

My FH is really involved, although he gets bored at the flower appointments. But he's been with me to almost every appointment, except anything with the dresses and the DJ (he works in radio, so he gets WAY too selective about who we would use at our wedding, I didn't want him to give anyone we met with a difficult time). But he picked out some invitations he liked, we both are working on a wedding playlist.

i have one of the typical, honey, you pick what you like i'm sure it's fine. (and then when i do he has an opinion and doens't like it) but i hear it's actually quite normal.

some guys are really really involved...don't demand it...just see how involved he wishes to be and let it be.

My Fh has gone to every vendor with me! he wants to though to negotiate and see what we are getting! he even picked out the centerpieces!

my fh came with me for everything so far, to negogiate. the only vendor he prob wont go to is the florist, which is fine

my FH couldn't care less about all of this...just like someone else said, he lets me pick and then tells me he doesn't like it. It's been a really pleasant experience...kind of like getting a root canal....although i will say he's been very patient with me with the photographers!

thanks. i'm really not demanding and have been pretty much taking care of the usual details on my own but lately i've been so drained and stressed and i feel that because he isn't involved he doesn't understand how much there is to do and then to top things off, i work Mon-Fri 9:-5 so i look forward to weekends to get things done and to spend time with him but he's been working every weekend this past month = no real quality time. i feel like we should be having fun with some of it at least. is that ridiculous of me?

not at all...typical life+wedding=stress.



take a weekend...maybe this one since it's a holiday weekend and just pretend you don't have a wedding to plan and regroup. it will help out tremendously.

thanks - thats what im hoping for (he's working half of it) and we just had a big stupid fight so there's friction between us. we didn't get to talk it over because we're working, he works nights often. weekends we're in a beach house with a bunch of other people so there's rarely an oppotunity for alone time and that's another recurring argument in itself.

FH wants to be involved in all the vendor related stuff and I like being able to even bounce ideas about the DIY projects off of him. He is enjoying the whole wedding planning process right now though we haven't really done much planning yet and I have to admit I love planning it with him!

only involved with looking at reception halls (picked it too) and went with me to queens to look at angelica glass for photography and will be going to brooklyn to look at something in blue. other than that, he doesnt care about the theme of the wedding, or anything like that. its kinda annoying cause he refuses to have an opinion. as long as theres beer there he doesnt care haha

FH was very involved with picking vendors, except flowers - on that subject his only opinion was that he wanted floral CPs not candle CPs (until he saw candle CPs at a recent wedding we went to ).

However, now that it is time to put together must play list, must take photo list, stuff favor boxes, assemble invites etc, he is nowhere to be found! To top it off he got pissed that I was putting together a must play list for the DJ without his input! Umm, hello, I told him MONTHS ago that I was listening to particular radio stations at work and writing down what I hated and what I liked - he is free to do the same thing!!

He also likes to say that it's his day too!

Mine was great! And I'm hearing about other brides that are mad at their FH because my DH was so great! Other than the DIY projects (which I chose to take on myself), it was 50/50!

Fh and I are doing everything together-he likes doing it and I love that he wants to do it.
