My parents are paying most of it but FH and I are terrible at saving money and could use some help trying to figure a way to save. Thanks!!

Open a joint account that you have very little access to, with no ATM card. Either you can commit to a % per paycheck, or you can have your direct deposit from work split between that account and your regular account.

Both of us set aside x amount from every paycheck into a seperate savings account. We budgeted the figure a little higher than what we needed in case of emergency. We didn't need it so now we are ahead of the game...done saving with two months to go.

I'm on a budget.. well, FH put me on it.. I contribute a certain amount of my paycheck into our wedding fund.. which means, no shoes, no new purses, clothes.. =( It's actually a good feeling though.. seeing it all add up soo quickly!

We do direct deposit into savings, my FH works side jobs (he's an electrician) and some things we pay as we go or are charging (ugh) and will pay after the wedding. My parents gave us a few thousand, so that helped but IT IS SO TOUGH!

Basically, FH has taken over most of the bills, and about 2/3 of my pay either goes into a savings account or directly to a down payment every month. We both end up with less spending money, but we will get through it.

Wrong person to ask! We are way over budget for the wedding, but we actually moved into a cheaper place so we could be the extra few hundred a month toward the wedding. We also know that we can put a few thousand a month toward the wedding out of our pay (ok, FH's pay-I go to school:). It's tough. Some things we charged, then got a balance transfer so we're not paying interest, and will pay this back after the wedding.

We opened up an interest bearing account, and we only use it for payments toward our wedding stuff!
We put in our budgeted $$, any gifts and my FH & I both work on commission, so extra commission goes in there as well.
Edited to Add: we both gave up partying for a while & I quit smoking, so that $$ automatically goes into the account.

we have a savings account at a bank with like maybe 2 branches and my dad holds the ATM card. We put a set amount each from paycheck in, plus we save all our change in a can to be used for dinners and weekend trips, this way we can still live a little while we're saving for the wedding.
Oh and no shopping no partying and more often than not, we bring our lunch...working in the city it adds up quickly!

We have an envelope system. For all of our bills. We have labeled envelopes that we put a certain amount of money in each paycheck. I can't do direct deposit. I have to have cash on me at all times. We have a specific wedding envelope. We calculated how much we need by the wedding date, then divided it up into how much each of us has to contribute each week. Every Saturday we go to the bank to deposit the cash into a joint savings account. The account may not be touched, unless we have to make a deposit. Good luck!

Same as alot of others..we have a joint savings account and we both get money direct deposited there. We have about 5 months to go and it is doing good..almost there. We need to be better about bringing in lunches etc..that defintly does add up!

I pay all the bills and whatever else we need with my paychecks. He saves every penny from his paychecks and puts it in a savings account that is strictly our wedding fund.

We deposited a certain amount from our paychecks into a seperate joint savings account. When the balance was something substantial we bought a savings bond for a better interest rate. Any extra cash we got (tax refunds, bonuses, gifts) went to this account also.

Wait, you mean it doesn't save itself?
Yeah, that's basically how FH sees it. I am currently contemplating the second job idea and will most likely do that. We barely have enough as it is, so it's the only way.

By not going out as much anymore, and not having take out as much Oh, and less manicures/pedicures and tanning for myself
