If you do a search you will find that it is not regarded as a very good place. The food and service typically do not get raves. Of course, when your parents were married there it was very different, different owners. Now it is more like a prom and corporate reception hall.

I'd have to agree with Michelle on this one. I had my senior prom there and it was great for that...but I don't believe it is reagrded as one of the better wedding reception locations.

Re: How is the Huntington Town House?
I'm a little upset because my fiance and I already put down a deposit. We just got engaged and wanted the wedding to be on a Saturday in July2003. Our guest list is about 300 people so we are very limited in our choices. Maybe you could tell me the negative things that you have heard and we can prevent them from happening at our wedding. YIKES! I am stressed!

Re: How is the Huntington Town House?
I have to agree with everyone else's assessments. My parents were also married there (1970) and my mom made me look there. The most significant issue is that there are up to 3 other weddings going on the same time as yours. This leads to parking issues, bathroom issues. The place just always feels very crowded and rushed. People running around all over.
Again, this is just my opinion. If you love the place, stick with it.
Edited to say: If you do decide to switch, there are definitely other places that can accomodate that size - Crest Hollow Country Club for example. You may want to pick up the LI facilities magazine. It lists halls and their sizes and prices per person, etc. Great reference tool!
Good Luck!!!

Yeah...all I have heard are bad things about that place. About a month ago the same question was asked but I think the bride got back her deposit and ended up going with CB.

I've been to Bat Mitzvahs and proms there and I didn't like the food or service. I would look at the Watermill - service, food, and decor are great!

Re: How is the Huntington Town House?
Milleridge Cottage holds over 300 people, but let's also remember that if budget is an issue HTH is much cheapier than a lot of place.IMO- I would rather cut my guest list and have it at a nicer place.

Re: How is the Huntington Town House?
I really hate to rain on your parade any more, but I totally agree with the other girls. It was once a great place for weddings, and had been highly regarded, but no longer. I, too, was initially drawn in because it meant that I could have my wedding on the night that I wanted, and could afford it. I even put down a deposit. But, after I went home, I thought about it, and realized that I would rather have a truly elegant wedding elsewhere at a different time of day (i.e., day instead of night), and have it in a truly classy place. As such, I got my deposit back from them immediately, and ended up at Crest Hollow Country Club. I never looked back, and was certainly NOT sorry I did so. Good luck to you!Welcome New Vendors
