I love the Watermill. It's so nice and the food is good. My cousin got married there a year and a half ago. My only complaint was that I went to sip my champagne during the toast and there was a piece of glass in it. I drank it too. I started to freak out and took a piece of bread and swallowed it because it was stuck in my throat. I mean, that could have happened anywhere but still a scary experience!

The Watermill only does 2 weddings at at a time. They only have 2 main rooms and one smaller room which is used for small parties and the cocktail hour. I definitely wouldn't call the place huge.

Oh...it seems huge...to me anyway....when my cousin got married there they were upset because another bride was taking pics outside when they were having their cocktail hour in the same area...so I thought they had more than just 3 weddings at once... sorry for the mis-info!

I think the place is pretty darn big as well. But if you are a wedding & they dont have another wedding for that day booked they will book christenings & communions etc. Which means there could be a possiblity of 3 different events happening in the same day at near same times.

I actually thought it was on the smaller side compared to many other halls. When I think of huge, I think of places like Crest Hollow or Westbury Manor that have a lot more than 3 rooms.

Ok...I am glad you think it is big too....maybe I didn't write it correctly but I think that having 3 events going could make someone not want to book there. The place is gorgeous and from all the weddings that i have been to there the service is great....but some people are looking to be the only wedding going on for the day.

As far as I was told, Westbury Manor only has 2 events at a time, and they are staggered by an hour and a half.

I just meant in terms of size and number of rooms, Westbury Manor seems like a much larger place than the Watermill. The Watermill is basically one long hallway when you go inside.

We went to look there and thought it was beautiful - and the food they gave us to try was amazing!

The only thing we didn't like was that if it rained we would have our ceremony in the same room as our reception. I mean they say they put up curtains (or temp walls, I forget) and it looks different but I dunno. If it was nice out the outdoor area is really pretty though.

My cousin had her ceremony there and it was downstairs (maybe they turned one of the rooms into a chapel). But her CH and reception were on the main level. CH room was a nice size. Her reception room I think was too big for the number of people she had. Maybe because so many people were leaving early due to the snowstorm that day. But out of the two weddings I've been to there, I've never had a problem with the food or service. The only reason why FH and I didn't look there was because someone in my family already had their wedding there and we wanted our 'own' place. HTH.
