How is this timing?

How is this timing?

cocktail hour 6-7
Dinner served at 8:30

Cake cutting at 10:45
Dessert at 11?

The reception ends at midnight.

i would just make sure you have a lot of dancing to fill up the 1 1/2 hours in between cocktail hour and dinner. will appetizers be served before 8:30?

If you're getting married at a reception hall they generally have set times for everything. If not then 8:30 sounds good for dinner.. but are u doing the bride throws the bo-k and all that stuff before cake cutting? You also have to figure in cake cutting time then the time it takes to bring out the cake.. and then clean it up and then dessert.
