Overall, my MIL and I have a very good relationship. Minor things bother me and I am sure her but I love her for raising her such a wonderful son, and she said she has never seen him as happy as he is with me.

not until we got engaged, did it become a wonderful relationship. I think she 'held' back for fear that we wouldn't be together forever, but now, she treats me like a daughter. It's really really nice

Both my FH's parents are deceased, and FH is very independent from his brothers and sisters, which suits me fine I do love his aunts and uncles though.

My FMIL drives me nuts, but for the most part she is tries. FFIL is a nice man doesnt speak too much. I wish FH and him had a better relationship.

Overall, FMIL is pretty cool. Like Daniela, minor things get on my nerves. But I read about crazy MIL's and thank my lucky stars for her.
ETA: I think being engaged changed our (FMIL and I) relationship for the better.

We have a good relationship...not great just good. We have never had any conflicts, etc., and of course I have the utmost respect for them bc they raised such a wonderful man. However, they are not my parents (who I am super close to). I compare them to my parents alot (in my head), which I know is bad of me but I just cannot help it.
