how is your wedding unique?

how is your wedding unique?

are you having anything special at your wedding that most people don't generally have? how will your wedding be 'unique' or 'different' than any other wedding?

we had a photobooth, during our reception we used contemporary music instead of the traditional wedding march. My bridesmaids all wore different style dresses.

Since my fh is Filipino during the church ceremony we will be incorporating Filipino traditions such as laying of the veil, tying of the cords, lighting of the candle and exchanging of the coins.

In line with FH and my compassionate lifestyle, our wedding will be 100% vegetarian.

We're having both cocktails and 'mock'tails as signature drinks, since most of his fam doesn't drink.

I'm wearing a traditional ivory American dress and then changing into and Indian legnha.

I'm getting henna done on my hands a couple days before the wedding.

We're incorporating our favorite music into every aspect of the wedding.

I'm walking down the aisle to a Pearl Jam song.

We're having a legal ceremony and a nikkah (Muslim wedding ceremony).

We're doing two donations to charities that are close to our hearts in lieu of favors.

Our colors are spring green and orange (pretty different, I think)

Having people sign a guitar instead of a guestbook.

Cardbox will also be a guitar, with a cardslot carved into it.

I'm making my own cocktail napkins with a custom stamp I got from etsy.

I have a name plaque but something a little more personalized and funky than what Channa offers.

Hmm...that's all I can think of right now.

hmm Not sure yet, but my FMIL is dead set on having a song she picked out for us in the wedding. It's by a Panamanian singer and she had it BLESSED by a priest while on a pilgrimage in panama. yeah, I guess she loves me :)

I'm sure my wedding will end up with someone getting thrown in the water. sigh..is that unique?

We're having a photobooth (which I think is only halfway unique since its not unheard of)

I think our flowers are pretty unique...they are not the typical wedding flowers

We're using small bouquets of lavender as placecards

that's all i can think of right now

Re: how is your wedding unique?

wow - all these things sound so good!

i just realized i never shared my unique stuff (oops lol) ...

-- FH and I hired a percussionist (not really THAT unique, but i've never been to a wedding that had one so it counts in my book hehe)

-- and we also have 2 small surprises (nobody knows about them, not even our parents) ... but i can't share due to possible lurkers

i hope that's enough to stand out

We are having a 'european style' wedding where dinner is sit down and formal in the ballroom followed by dancing in another room. There are still alot of things I have to plan but I do want unique elements in there but not too far out to make it a 'spectacle'.

we're doing the same thing. and our band is going to play our college fight song while we move from the ballroom to the dancing room. it's the best fight song ever so it will get everyone moving (and it's personal :)).

This sounds really cool. My FH is 1/2 Filipino and I'm sure he'd like to incorporate some Filipino traditions into the wedding. Any chance one of you ladies could FM me info about each of these elements?

TIA!

We are using classic rock songs during the ceremony instead of the traditional stuff. We are going to have a cigar roller, which I've never seen before but i know it isnt that unique. We are making a donation to a charity that means a lot to us instead of favors. Hmm, thats all I can think of right now.
