How long did it take everyone to find a catering hall?

2 days of looking around at about 5 places

it will be 2 months in April since i've been engaged and I have yet to find a place.
Tomorrow FH and I are going to look at 2 places and hopefully decide on a place.

So far for me it was the toughest part of planning and honestly if fh didnt cut me off after visiting 11 places i would still probably be looking. Dont worry you'll find the place thats best for you.

I think every place in Suffolk county.
We narrowed it down to 2 places: Vineyard caterers -b/c it is beautiful
west lake- practical, the place is sentimental to my FH family.

I did three days of looking, but about a month of research online. www.weddingsitesandservices.com was one of the best resources...aside from liweddings of course.

About two months - engaged at the beginning of January, did about two weeks of online searches then weekend after weekend of visiting places. Finally in early March we finalized our decision! I really was giving up hope at that time - I started looking in places in RI and NC and destination weddings!

We were engaged for 2 months when we began looking. It took us 3 weeks and 5 halls.

We were very lucky. The first day we went looking we booked our hall. I guess we just knew!

We only looked at one place...but it was easier that FH went to school there and knew it well.

We picked the 5th place we looked at.

Almost 3 months and counting. And not full-time looking - based on FH schedule we can only make appointments every other week and 1-2 days in that week.

We're too picky I guess but we don't want to settle. We've narrowed it down to 3 places but we still have other places to look.
