We started looking the weekend after we got engaged which was april 2004 & we booked our hall July 24th...We knew it was going to be Floral Terrace since June but never had a chance to book

One weekend, we saw 5 places. We found that it was really easy for us b/c our date was so flexible, originally we wanted Oct '05, but ended up with March '06.

It took us two months, but we went to see lots of places. We couldn't figure out what we wanted or what we were looking for, so we saw it all. Gardens, temples, catering halls.

It took us one day...we went to look at one in the morning and took a chance with Westbury Manor letting us look that afternoon...we booked with them within 20 min of being there...

We looked at 9 places...we started right after Christmas and then booked the Swan Club a few weeks after...the Swan Club was the first one that we saw

We had been engaged for 9 or 10 months..we just decided one day to go visit NRC because people were posting pics on LIW that day and I thought ti was so pretty..we loved it, but ti was slightly out fo our price range, the following week we looked at riviera and didn't really like it...then a few weeks later it was thanksgiving weekend and my whole family was together and I asked if theyw anted to take a drive to NRC to see it... and my whole family loved it, and the BM brought th price and min down a little for us, and my mom wrote out a check for the deposit right then and there.

Us too, we have been to many weddings and knew what places we wanted to see and just cincentrated on seeing those

2 days . we went to the brentwood country club, majestic gardens, the miller place inn, three villiage inn, smithtown landing country club. we ended up booking at the watermill! its beautiful!

Giorgios was the first and ONLY place we looked at. we fell in love with it on the day we went to look. We took our mom's back to see it the next weekend and we booked the same day!!! So much easier than I thought it would be.

Almost 3 months and counting. And not full-time looking - based on FH schedule we can only make appointments every other week and 1-2 days in that week.
We're too picky I guess but we don't want to settle. We've narrowed it down to 3 places but we still have other places to look.
i am in the same boat... 4 months and counting... what 3 places u have narrowed down to?

it took me about 2mts. and that was after looking 8 or 10 places - some places I just ruled out after talking to people over the phone ...good luck

So far for me it was the toughest part of planning and honestly if fh didnt cut me off after visiting 11 places i would still probably be looking. Dont worry you'll find the place thats best for you.

HAHAHAHA thats how it was with me and my FH I had him going all over nassau county for about 3 weeks then he said thats it I still wanted to look at a few more places but he said we had to decide so I understand
