how long were you engaged before you booked your hall? and how long was it from the time you 1st visited the hall where you booked and when you actually went back to book it? (hope that question makes sense! lol)
and what's the deal with halls holding dates? they need a deposit to hold a date? i don't remember what the guy said...

I got engaged jan 09 n my engagement party was in april... we booked in june a few days after we saw the hall. Usually they will hold ur date a few days so noone books it while u get the deposit 2gether

1. We were engaged in July 08, planned for an August 2010 wedding but eloped Feb. 2010 instead. Now, getting married again in August 2012.
2. For the 2010 wedding we planned, we saw a few halls between July and August 2009. After being completely torn between JT and Swanc Club, we went with the Swan Club maybe 2 weeks after we saw it.
3. The date holding thing helps if you just need a minute to get your deposit together or talk to FH about anything, etc. I think it's usually around 48 hours.

We got engaged April 3 and starting loking at halls the following week and booked really soon after I fell in love with my RH and didnt even want to keep looking! It is sooo exciting have fun!!!

Welcome!!! we got engaged in May 2010 and I've seen 14 places & decided on one & booked the middle of July. The only thing holding us up was to find a place we really liked. Otherwise I wouldve signed ASAP

We were engaged a couple of weeks before finding our hall. Some people are longer but we just fell in love the moment we saw it and just knew
It took us a couple of days to officially book, we even checked out 1 last place before we booked our RH to make sure it was where we wanted and we are so happy we did that because after we did we knew 100% we wanted it at The Inn at New Hyde Park
You need to put down a deposit to hold the date for sure. Thats when you book and sign the contract!
