How long before the wedding did you send the invites out?
Had a fight with my parents. They think that sending them out 2 months before the wedding (a month before RSVP date) is TOO early.
We don't have a lot of out of town guests, didn't send many STD's out since we had a situation with his parents not willing to pay for an overflow of guests at the time.
I think 2 months before the wedding is perfect.

If it makes you feel any better I am sending mine out three months before the wedding and two months before the RSVP date. I just want to get them out of my hair rather then seeing them sitting around here for another month.

Invitations went out March 27 RSVP was May 1 Our wedding was June 10
I think they went out about 10 weeks prior to the wedding, giving our guests 5 weeks to respond. It may seem early but I'm glad bc it was a lot less stressful having extra time to get everything together in the end.

I'm getting married 9/16 - I mailed mine out 2 weeks ago, a little over 2 months. People say you get a lot of RSVPs at the start, but I'm not right now. Doesn't hurt to send them out early - get some early drawers.

we send ours out 6 weeks before the rsvp date, about 2 months before the wedding.
2 months is perfect b/c guests need time to prepare, take time off work, make travel arrangements, etc. its not really fair to give them less then that

We sent them out 2 months before the wedding.... one month before the RSVP date. We're still sending a couple stragglers, but the majority of the invites went out then.

that's pretty much what we did.
but 2 months is the normal time to send them. gives them 4 weeks to respond and you 4 weeks to finalize.

Getting married in 4/07 and plan to send mine out no later the 1/15/07. RH needs final head count two weeks before

We sent ours two months ahead of time. All the etiquette books I've read say 6-8 weeks. Good luck!

I also think 2 months is perfect.
My wedding date is July 15th - I sent my invites out on May 9th with a June 10th RSVP date.
It was great having the extra time to track down all of the people who did not RSVP in time.

I think I sent them out about 4 months early. Rumors where going around that a certain family member who was not invited wanted to sent half the family on vacation to be a b****! And our RSVP date was 1 month before. So it didn't seem too early. And I also ordered them once i found the ones that I loved. Just to scratch it off the list!
