How long before wedding date should RSVP date be???
I already got my invitations and I made the RSVP date exactly a month and a day before the wedding. Now some of my friends are telling me that I should have made it sooner.

Mine is exactly 3 weeks before the wedding date because that's what my invitation lady told me to do.
Thanks ladies - I guess I'm not so far off then. Some people were telling me 6 weeks to 8 weeks to be sure but I thought that was crazy.
It depends when you need to give a head count to the caterer. You want a few days to call people that are remiss in responding. I think 4-5 weeks is average. IMO 6-8 weeks seems too far in advance. I think you are fine!
As per our invitation company ours was 6 weeks before the date of your affair. Our wedding was August 24, 2002 and our RSVP deadline was July 16, 2002.
My wedding is on December 6 and my response date is November 6, exactly 1 month before. That is what the people at the catering hall suggested since my final seating plans, favors, etc... have to be in 2 weeks before the big day!
I did 4 1/2 weeks prior as my deadline!
