How long before you got your dress?

Ok, I was never planning on a really expensive designer dress to begin with but am I totally off not getting my dress yet? Wedding in June...how long did it take you guys to find something and get it back. I thought 6 mos would be plenty and planned on going in December so I could get in better shape first....am I crazy?

yeah. i would definitely start looking. some designers - and not necessarily the expensive ones - can take 8 months to come in, so those are out. you should start looking before your options start closing in due to different designers production times.

took 6 months. I know many top designers or well known ones will rush it for a fee. My friend got hers in 3 months and that rare. She paid the price for quick delivery.

Also if you want the dress custom to fit you so they wont need to hem it, it takes a tad longer to make.HOwever, It saves you money to do this and time bc teh dress comes perfect to your height.

well also keep in mind that you need the dress to come in about 6-8 weeks BEFORE the wedding so that you can start your alterations. So you would need for your dress to come in around april. All wedding dresses once they come in, you go in for 3 fittings. First fitting is anywhere from 6-8 weeks before and then last one is anywhere from 1-2 weeks before the wedding

I would go soon, you want to give it enough time to come in and get all your alterations. PLUS if you plan to lose weight thats fine if you go now bc they take the dress in when it arrives anyways so even if you do lose more weight by then its not a problem. I was thinner on my wedding day than i was when i went dress shopping, they just took in so was no problem.
