We are debating this same topic.....our church ceremony will be at 300 (maybe 330)....and then the cocktail hour (hour and half actually), i think at 630.....the church is about 30 min tops from RH.

Our ceremony is at 3 and the cocktail hour starts at 7.

The church starts at 3:30 and my CH starts at 7:30...I gives me plenty of time to take pictures. I was really worried about this too cause I feel bad for my guests but there was nothing I could do about it. Most of my guests live on LI so it won't be such a problem.

I didn't want a lot of time in between church and our reception but our photographer stressed that we need it. My church is at 2:30 and cocktail hour starts at 6:00.

The church is at 3:30 and the CH starts at 7. the ceremony is in the Bronx and the reception is out on the island so I'm thinking about 2 hours for guests to get out there is enough time on a friday night plus it shoud give us enough time to take pictures in between....I hope!

My ceremony is at 2:30 and my cocktail hour is at 6:30!

My ceremony starts at 230, but i did the same thing, pushed the reception up from 7-12pm to 6-11pm. Also because my wedding is on a sunday and i thought it would be better for my guests if it ended an hour earlier since they might have work the next day.

My church is at 3:00 and my reception is at 7. People do have to drive about 40 minutes to the reception. I'm sure they will go to the hotel first. I actually might even change the church to 2:30 because we all have to travel over a bridge (Tappen Zee Bridge) and the traffic starts pretty early on Fridays.

Ours cocktail hour starts one hour after...we ahve to hurry for pics, we actually might miss part of the cocktail hour

We might just send the BP without us, once they are done w/pics so that they don't miss it

My ceremony starts at 1:30 and the cocktail is at 4:30.

I think as long as you have enough time for you to take pictures so that you can still make it to your own cocktail hour then it will be ok.
