How long did it take?

To get pregnant after you started TTC?
Just trying to plan my future

1st month we started trying... was 9/01 found out I was prego 10/9/01

hi lizlen...it varies from person to person...prob not what you wanted to hear

The obgyn told me to be off the pill for 2 cycles b4 'trying'. I was off for a while...but not trying in earnest. Didnt have a set timeline in place because I figured these things happen when it is the right time and place. I guess I left it in the hands of G-d to decide...and in late mar/early april I missed. I figured it was an old condition flaring up again. It was the midwife who suggested I actually may be preganant and to take a test.
I went and bought a preg test and dont you know, I got a neutral result! Bought two more , but the color bars were very faint. Go figure- I'd be the only one who can fail a preg test!!!!
well, the blood test proved I was preg! yay!

so again, there is only SO MUCH you can PLAN when ur TTC. See your dr, let them know that you both are ready and see if you need a checkup. Take prenatal vitamins, excercise if you can, quit smoking ( if u do), and watch what you eat...and HAVE FUN! it'll happen when it is supposed to! (IMO)

First pregancy was just one month.. had a boy

Second pregnancy was just one month.. had a misscariage

Third pregnancy took me 6 months.. had a misscarriage

Fourth Pregnancy.... I'll have to let you know!

It took 3 months-got married in June, got pregnant in Sept. However, I was not on the pill or using reliable birth control for a couple of years with DH. But, we did avoid the middle of my cycle, so I'm guessing that my cycle is so regular that we did a good job preventing getting pregnant, and later getting pregnant.

Wow, Nina! I'm surprised at how similar our stories are! LOL!

I got married in June and got PG in August. I never used hormonal birth control for extented periods of time b/c I did not react well on them. We actually started 'throwing caution to the wind' during our honeymoon trip.

But, Phyl is right - everyone is different. For DH and I, we weren't sure if we would encounter fertility issues, so that was one of our main concerns when we started TTC.
