It took about six weeks from the President. Now, I am so sorry I never asked for one from the Pope.

I mailed my invite to the Pres on March 27,2004. His card was post marked on September 22, 2004

For the Pope, I don't know because my officiant requested it (it was his gift to us, so I'm not sure if it's the same kind that everyone else gets- ours is approx 16 x 20, all in hand caligraphy, including our full names and wedding date).

It was presented to us at our wedding ceremony- but again, my officiant is a family member and he requested it from the Vatican, and gave it to us as a gift.

I heard it could be easier to send to the Pope in care of the local archbishop ...I may try both.
