how long did you know your fiance before you decided to tie the knot? / head towards marriage...

i knew FH since i was 13 years old, and we started going out when i was 17 and now im 22 and were getting married! ...

I knew him all my life! We went to elementery, middle and high school together, but didn't begin dating until we were 19. We have been dating now for 9 years.

We were dating for 3 1/2 years and knew each other for barely 2 months more than that

We knew each other about 7 years before dating. Once we got married it had been about 10 1/2 years!

we started dating at 14 and 15 after knowing each other for 4 months and he proposed 8 yrs later!!

we were dating for over a year and a half at the time we got engaged. we had known each other for about 5 months before we started dating.

For about five years. . . we were strictly platonic friends for almost an entire year first, before we started dating officially.

I've know FH since middle school but we didn't become official until our freshmen year of high school....but we were together for 6.5 years when we got engaged!

Not quite two years. The second anniversary of our first date is Monday! Wow. We got engaged about five weeks ago. My FH thought about proposing on our anniversary, but he thought I was getting a little stressed and looking for a proposal, so he did it on the anniversary of our moving in together. Actually, he did it on the day after, which was November 1st. He gave me a placeholder ring, and the ring hadn't arrived by Halloween. I was expecting it, and on Halloween he said to me, 'I've got part of your present, but not all of it, so can you wait? I'm not sure when it's coming.' What could I say? I knew that 'present' most likely meant 'engagement ring' but I wasn't sure why there were two parts of the present. (I collect a certain type of art pottery, and he hid the ring inside a vase--the vase had arrived, not the ring.) And he didn't seem to know when the 'present' would arrive, which I also found very confusing, as an engagement ring would be tracked and insured because it was valuable, right? But I didn't know he was planning on proposing with a $25 CZ he bought on Amazon.com! Anyway, it all worked out well. We met online through a personal ad in November 2004, then met in person for coffee on Dec 11, 2004. We moved in together on Halloween, 2005, and got engaged on November 1, 2006. And we may have a wedding date today! (We're touring Timber Point.)
