How long do you have b/w your ceremony and reception??

Originally, I was going to have a 4pm church w/ a 7pm reception. Being that they are only 2miles apart you don't need time to travel. well. it turns out that they will be having communion confessions, etc.. the day of my wedding and I will have to get married at 1:30. So, I am bumping up the reception time to 6:30. Lord knows I will have plenty of time for pics now!! So how long is your in between time?

our church ceremony starts at 3:30 but we plan on changing it to 2:30 bc that is what our photographer suggested and CH starts at 7:30.

Our hall does have a lounge area downstairs with sofa's, food and drink for guests who arrive early and also FMIL might do something at her house after while were out taking pics

So, it is basically the same time frame. I think we would have been cutting it close w/the original time anyhow. Everything happens for a reason, I guess.

yes its 4 hours but we might have tomake it 5 hours. This is very common with weddings, people know this. And until now people have managed lol. Not only that but alot of people forget that alot of your guests dont actually come to the ceremony they just go to the reception. Your close friends and family will be there but just about everyone else wont go. Think about weddings you attend, how many ceremonies do you go to

Plus nothing i can do, 3:30 was the latest...Catholic churches have mass at 5pm, with confession right before and you have to give them a little time to clean up

Very true, not many unless they are close to me. I never paid that much attention until now with timing and everything.

yeah when we go to weddings its not a big deal to us so it wont be a big deal to our guests...its just us brides who stress about it lol.

Our church ceremony is at 4:30pm (not a full mass, just a ceremony). Our CH starts at 7pm.

We're nuts. Our ceremony will end around 11:45 to noon... and the cocktail hour begins at 12:30. (it's only a couple blocks away)

most pics will be before the ceremony....

Me too... only I'm having a mass at 3! I love this because I want all of my pictures done before the CH starts, so this way I can go to it and start to greet my guests so I can really enjoy the reception!

Mass ceremony at 4pm
Cocktail hour starts at 8:30pm

There will be about a 3 hour gap after the end of the ceremony and it will take about an hour (WITH Friday night traffic from the church to the RH)... So there's basically a 2 hour gap for people to fill.

We didn't have a choice so what can you do.

It was a hard decision because I hate when there's a long gap in between when I am attending a wedding but as a bride, you want the time for pictures.
I went the crazy way also. 11:30am wedding & 12:30 coctail hr
daytime wedding was almost half the price, can't beat it!
