How long does it take

How long does it take

When you first went to look at dresses, how long were you there?

I am going tomorrow. FH & FMIL are meeting me afterward so we can go to order our inviations.

I have no idea of how long this will take. I'm thinking maybe around 2 hours?

I appreciate your input!!!

Thanks Jackie! Did you go alone or with someone? I will be alone...will that make it take longer?

I suggest going with someone. JMHO. She/they can help you sorting through dresses and give you her/their honest opinion.

Thing is my family is in Kansas. I think that if my mom can't be there to see me in my dress for the first time, that no one else should be.

We are very close, I talk to her every day.... I hate that she can't be more involved in this and I just don't want to give away her job to someone else...

Do you think I'm crazy???

No, you are not crazy. My family is OOT and cannot help me with any of the wedding stuff. I have come to rely on my MOH (who is my best friend) to help me. My mom understands. I tell her everything I have chosen. My MOH came with me to try on dresses. I was glad she came and gave me her honest opinion. Sometimes it's hard to be objective with yourself.

To be honest I think you'll be fine going by yourself. I went by myself twice until I narrowed down my choices & then brought my mom & MOH for their opinions. If you are going to one store, it should take at most about 2 hours.

Where do you plan on going?

Have a great time!

Here is where it gets fun for me, MOH is in Nebraska... BM's (all except FSIL) are also out of state. I am the crazy one in my family who packed up and moved away.... I've only been up here for a couple of years and I just don't think I'm close enough to anyone here to involve them in this part... everything else I won't worry about asking someone else, but I always thought my mom would be with me when I'm trying on my wedding dresses....

I am going to Bridal Garden in NYC. It is a non-profit organization that takes donated sample gowns from designers and the such. Then they sell the dresses at a greatly discounted price and all the proceeds go to a children's shelter.
I LOVE this concept and I hope to find something perfect there!!
The place is not 'open' it is by appointment only so I'm guessing that there will be one person dedicated to helping me....

Don't worry! You will be fine. You will look beautiful with whatever dress you pick!

Good luck! Maybe you can post some pics here if you need advise from the girls on this site. They are very helpul.

You're not crazy. Good Luck with the dress tomorrow, and maybe bring a camera for a sales person to take you pic and send it to your mom?
